Big Voices, Big Topics: Medical Observer Podcast Lands at Cyrius MediaWorks

We love a good challenge, especially when it comes wrapped in purpose and impact. So, when Medical Observer approached us to record and produce a series of podcasts featuring some of the heavy hitters of the Australian health sector, we jumped at the chance.

The series is hosted by the highly respected Dr Annette Katelaris, a sharp interviewer with a deep understanding of her subject matter. With topics ranging from HPV vaccinations to the future of GP training and the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, these interviews are designed to inform and inspire health professionals across the country.

Medical Observer came to us looking for a way to lift the production quality of their audio content, and we were more than happy to oblige.

Recording long-form interviews presents a unique set of audio challenges. Guests are often remote, dialling in via phone or web, which makes the audio quality variable at best. Add to that the usual culprits; mic bumps, paper rustles, the occasional mystery background noise, and it becomes a bit of a sonic jungle.

But that’s where we come in.

Using a suite of mastering tools, noise reduction techniques and some clever spectrographic editing, we were able to clean up the recordings and deliver polished, professional podcasts every time that did justice to the conversations being had.

We completed 25+ episodes. We’re proud of how they’ve turned out, and the impact they had directly to the medical professionals hungry for the knowledge contained within.
