From Startup Spark to Studio Stories: Stefan’s Entrepreneurial Journey Hits the Airwaves

At Cyrius, we believe in the power of stories, especially the ones that help the next generation of creators, innovators, and business leaders find their spark. So when our MD, Stefan Sojka, was invited to record a podcast series on the entrepreneurial journey, the answer was a resounding yes.

Organised by Dr. Frances Chang (PhD, MBA, SFHEA), Senior Lecturer and Head of Major – Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Macquarie Business School, the podcast was designed as a learning experience for students studying the art and science of starting and growing a business. Stefan brought with him a unique perspective, one forged over nearly five decades of running creative, digital, and media-focused ventures, starting way back in 1977.

Across three episodes, Stefan shared the real highs and lows of being self-employed. From building a business before the internet was even a thing, to adapting through waves of technological change, his journey is one filled with experimentation, reinvention, and a whole lot of creative chaos. The goal? To inspire young entrepreneurs with authentic insight: what to do, what not to do, and how to stay true to your values when building something from the ground up.
